Middle Years Coordinator’s Message

Esra Yildirim-Bas
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back to Term Two and I hope everyone had relaxing term break. This term is a busy one and we look forward to sharing our plans and special learning activities through the school newsletter.
Upcoming event:
- Year 4A will be visiting Melbourne Museum in Week 5- 17th May, 2017.
- This term, Middle Primary Department will be attending to Sovereign Hill Overnight Camp in Week 6- Monday, 22nd May 2017. Ms Medine, Ms Mirela and I will be attending the camp and we are looking forward to it. This overnight camp will provide our students with a positive educational and emotional experience, in which they will have an opportunity to develop social and personal skills, getting to know themselves and other classmates better in a cooperative and safe environment.
Departure (22nd of May, Monday): On the day students will arrive at school as per usual (out of school uniform) and we will depart at 11:00 am. Students do not need to bring their school bags. Students must bring their small bag or small luggage, sleeping bag and a pillow.
Return (23rd of May, Tuesday): The following day, the bus will arrive at school at approximately at 3:00pm.
- NAPLAN: The NAPLAN for Year Three students was held on Tuesday 9th May, Wednesday 10th May and Thursday 11th May 2017. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Language Conventions and Numeracy. Congratulations on their hard work.
- Maths Olympiads: This year the Grade Four students will be competing in the Maths Olympiads with the other campuses in Term Two - Week 7. This term I am working with the selected students during lunchtimes and preparing them for the competition. We are very excited; and I wish them all the best.
If you have any further questions or inquiries please contact me through our school office.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Esra Yildirim
